Our 501c3 status is through New Sun Rising. This is a carefully considered decision that has many advantages.
Why Fiscal Sponsorship?
What does that mean and how does it work?
New Sun Rising supports nonprofit projects by providing:
Oversight: They vetted us thoroughly prior to acceptance. They review all grant applications and update reports ensuring everything we do is ethical and mission focused. This oversight is as strong (or stronger) than the oversight of any other organization. They make sure we play by the rules.
It’s a built in team that offers more experience than we can hire and more resources we could find alone! We in turn fall under their 501c3 designation.
This checks-and-balances system lowers our expenses, connects us to resources, and adds credibility to our work. AND it costs us less, keeping our budget lean. That’s win-win-win-WIN!
We’ve maintained this strong relationship since our foundation, with exceptional results.
